I was thinking about linking them. But, if one person had an account on one and didn't have an account on the other, then they wouldn't be able to post.

It would be easy if the Gpu was only an extension and not a seperate project. I think an additional link would still be good. Someone's question might be solved on the other bored. Just add to your 'Posting restrictions' that they need to also be on signed up on that portion of the project to post.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?

You have a tea break and get #2. I have a tea protest and get shafted.

Can I have account number 1 billion?

Random luck? Maybe ;) Or was it skill, cunning and speed? Dave did say he would finish "either tonight or tomorrow" so it was a question of who could get there first really :P

No, you're right borandi. I'm just randomly lucky. Or just poised to be :)

If it sticks this time - Ice is #1 - Yea! :)

I billion GPU users - that's going to be interesting Misfit.

Congrats on your #2 borandi !

and on your #56 boosted ;)

That's pretty cool, I must say. I sure hope you can keep the 99s ;)

Maybe this has been answered somewhere else already and if it has i appologise for asking it again.
Has there been any word on which catalyst version or if a 3rd party app is required to start crunching the new gpu project wu's or we can just start crunching straight off once the work starts to flow ?

That is an interesting question as to whether the HD38xx and HD48xx ATI GPU are the ones or the nVidia GTX26x series.

There was discussion of a CUDA version (nVidia based?) and now this question (ATI).

For me, guidance would be appreciated and what level of nVidia card is needed for double precision (unless the client is written to cope with this loss for the GPU).

The original MW home page talks about GPUs only, and the new GPU home page is not designed to address this question.

In all likelyhood it will be the ATI GPUs as these are already being used here, but project Admin thoughts/guidance would be appreciated.
Go away, I was asleep

I wish I did.
Guess, I'll just have to walk down the street to the store. And thanks for the linky to the picture, otherwise I'd still be wondering: "What the !@#$%^ is the Flake and why would I get one with that?". You see, flakes aren't sold here. One has to wait for winter and get them for free. :D

Putting a 'Hardware requirements for this project' link on the GPU main page page would be a good idea. It would save a lot of time both for wannabe crunchers and those answering 'but it won't run on my PC!' questions on the board.
Cheers,

PeterV
