Hello all,

Are we in fixed credit / WU mode so to speak?

Reason why i'm asking is that my last x ammount of wu's have been generously awarded "1.00" credit rather than the usual average of say 1.97 for eg.

Kind Regards,

Happy Crunchin John :0)

HM, that is quite little per WU, if it earlier was around 2-4 CS per WU.

It could have at least been 2CS per WU.

Which would make a ratio of 1CS per every 196 SEC of crunching time...
now it's 1CS per 392 Sec which is ever worse than the official SETI,
who have the lowest CS ratio that I know of out of all projects !

Even if Cosmology@home have a fixed credit, they have 100CS per WU,
they of course have a lot longer WUs, but the ratio CS/Crunching time
is still around 140-150 sec per CS.

I think this project will loose a lot of participants this way...

... but that is really your problem I suppose !

At least I'll put Milkyway@home on hold for now, I'm not crunching for peanuts !

Crystallize,

as an alternative you could get a real computer such as a Mac. My 3 years old G5 takes just 172 seconds/work unit, which brings the credit/hour exactly in line with SETI@Home and Einstein@Home. BTW: my Windows XP machine with Dual 3GHz P4 takes appr. 500 seconds/work unit.

Hello,

My compaq evo w6000 dual 2.8Ghz HT xeon workstation is only being awarded :-

1.00 Credit/WU

I've upped the fixed credit per WU to 2.0, it'll take awhile for this to filter through the current workunits that have already been generated though.

Hello,

about credit : my Quad on QMC harvested around 66 secs / 1 cr. , fixed credit 2.00 per WU isn´t much, I think. I hope for a better awarding in future :-).

Cool, I'm quite satisfied with 2CS per WU, it puts Milkyway in the middle to high range of projects.

*PS* Martin P. I'm very happy with my Dual core Conroe, that was not the point either *DS*
