So,

You feel that you have been over modded. That for no reason your messages or threads have been removed.

This would be the place to post these issues.

In my opinion, Blurf has gone too far in his abuse of power. And since this is our team private message boards, Blurf has no right to touch what we post here.

Feel free!

I notice that we didn't even get notices that our posts had been hidden.

Oh well... im not sure what is happening here..
Have you not got mod-notice? hmmm. I know, last
night i got that urge to try what he did the day
before.. to start a new word-thread. I found it
strange it happend as it did, so i desided to do
the same thing... I saw you guys post in it, then
it was gone. I got the mod-notice about the
thread hidden. Then he contacted me through PM, and
I told why i did what i did. I hope it is noticed
as it should be - and gives another way to change
thoses threads when it has to. Im back with a
mod-notice - as maybe one of few in MW. ;o All I want
to say is that im not really such a bad girl.. it
just looks like it. ;-))

Im not interested in saying much about it though
- but I will see how the next thread-openings will be
done...

----------------

Edit - Ok, Here is my sin..;

Word Link IV.

Time to start a new word-link- thread. ;-D

- New -

(will a mod please close nr III. ;)

Well I didn't get a mod notice, but maybe I wasn't the one who said something so bad that the thread had to be modded.

Noone said anything bad. And you didnt post in it..

It was taken away because Blurf means his thread goes before mine. Thats it.

Yes, Blurf seems to be up to his old tricks. It would be nice to Blurf him for once.

Here the deal.

Yesterday I wanted to start a Word Link thread. I understand that the mesage boards are open so why is it that only Blurt can start a thread?

So I started one.

It got modded.:

Your thread 'WL "V"' http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=844
has been hidden
by moderator Blurf (ID 3069).
Reason: other
Moderator comment: Incognito--let WL 3 play out please.

For further information and assistance with MilkyWay@home go to http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/

SO I started another one. I thought a race between word link threads would be fun

---

MY post

Mouse!

A race between III and VI

.

This is a race, and this thread should not be modded.

And BLURT mod notice:

On a side note- for some reason he thinks my name is Jeremey- what a doofus.

Your thread 'WL "VI"' http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=845
has been hidden
by moderator Blurf (ID 3069).
Reason: other
Moderator comment: Incognito (Jeremy)--Version 3 has already been open for a day now--it stays until it is played out. Please stop doing this. If you have an issue--red-x it and discuss it. Please do not open another new version until #3 plays out

Blurt comment was that the old word link thread had been red-x'd

That someone had complained that it had gotten too long.

and I call BULL! - I highly doubt that anyone would red-x a word link thread because they think it is getting long.

Blurt only wanted a bit more glory so he thought he would flex his mod muscle close the current thread and start a new one.

Then will not allow any other thread to be created.

This is abuse of mod authority.

He has a history of red-xing posts and threads and then saying the users are doing it. This lets him have his way when he can't get it any other way.

mmmmmmmhhh... All has been fine for a long time now..
fun and nice..
Yes, after my thread was modded, Incognito made threads too. At
that point i was busy answering PM`s to Blurf... I may post it here
later.. Right now i need to get outside again..and have a rest from
all this.

On the other hand.. i have come to the conclutin that the account-hijack
in Seti is not a hijack.. but a stabb in the back.. for some or another
reason. You who can, please go in and read the post i made there a while
ago......... If you mean i should copy it and post it here too, I
will do it later..... but i wouldnt like to spread it too much, as its
sad stuff...

I have been happy with all this for long now.. It seems like about a year
after the last time the team was on attack, it once again is happening.
I am not sure why..... and what cause such things..
If I am in any way behaving in a way i shouldnt, that may cause people to
become angry somehow.. please tell me, as i dont know about it.. and it has
never been my intention.

As I said below, it would be nice if the poster or team leader at least got a pm saying why the post/thread was modded.
Cheers,

I do have a question.

Why would Blurt want us to Red-x a thread/post?

Does this give him access to our personal email accounts?

Does he have access them already by just being a mod? Or does red-xing somehow give him this information?

I also notice a new tag line under Blurt's not only forum mod now but also project admin ?

What security rights go with project admin that is over and above the forum mod?

Stranger and stranger.

To red-x a post does not give any information about our personal email adress.
It shows the nick name / account nr. of who is red-x ing it.. And what this person eventually write as a reason for red-x ing the post.

Normally the mods has no direct access to the email adresses. But when people
write to the mod list by email, they of course get it in that way.. if not the member use a special email adress only for this purpose, and not the regular one. On the other side.. of course all the emai adresses and other information is to find Somewhere. So its only a matter of knowing where to look and how to
get access to it. Why anyone would do so is always a question. But it has nothing to do with a mod-job. It should be only admins having possibilities to
find these, and only when there is a strong suspicion of abuse of an account or other important issues.

As a team-founder we get access to the members email adresses though. That means, a team founder who is not to be trusted may very well handle out email-adresses to someone who asks for them, for some or another reason.

When it comes to why he has become an project admin, and what he might get
access to by that, I dont know. Ive never been an aministrator in any Boinc
project ;-)

-edit- but I have been admin in other private forum - and there of course I had
access to the email accounts people used to add up with. Also there were this
feature with showing ip-adresses - so as an admin in such a forum, you have the
possibility to actually "collect" peoples ip-adresses - and in that way search them up in real. It can all be scary stuff if someone use it in the wrong way.

All I can say here is that i dont like it. What ever they do in All Boinc projects, they should absolutely Not bring current crunchers nor moderators in there. But who am I to say so...

Thank you Miss Moon for the clarification.

It is interesting however, and maybe that is why Blurt wants to "chat" about it -

Maybe not.

But as of today, he does have project administrator privileges, And with this higher level of security, it might be possible to gain this information.

This may be a question for Travis or Dave.

And I also agree that participants of a project should in no way be mods, or admins. It reduces the security of project and many, can not be trusted, And I DO NOT TRUST BLURT!

To Blurt,
I KNOW you are reading this, so why don't you just send me a PM and get it over with.

Hmmmm... Why should Blurf read this? Its in a team member board - and
he is not a part of this team. Spying is not part of the mod-job.
What project would give such a job to spyes? I have a feeling I have
seen once what at least some projects does with those "shown as / desided to be spyes".
That goes for both mods and "normal posters".

I am wondering........

Blurt just modded a post of mine.- I am not sure why he thinks this post of mine should have been modded. I did not request this post to be deleted. He just took it upon himself to do what he thinks will make him feel important. He is really a wanker!

here it is:

Your post [ID 24222] in thread 'MilkyWay_GPU' http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=785#24222
has been hidden by moderator Blurf (ID 3069).

Your post was categorized as User Request

The content of your post:
Opps deleted.

I was thinking this was the verbal abuse thread.
