Caught that last name, sticking out a hand to shake and saying hello. (Przybyla with a A at the end here). LOL

Hello Dave! Nice to hear from you after so long. How's it going? MW-GPU almost there? 'No work' here nearly sorted sorted out?

btw, nice try with the 'John' and the 'a', but hey, at least you posted ;)

LOL :)

Jeez Dave!! It's not even summer and you're already on summer break? How long was your last semester - 10 minutes? LOL

Just kidding! Listen, can't you get ole Travis there to give us all an update on the state of play, what with you being close to him, and all? I mean geographically close, that is - just a quick disclaimer there to avoid any misunderstanding!!

Cheers

Chris ;^).

Several NY colleges and universities begin in mid-to-late August and finish by early May. (At least that's how it used to be.)
One college in NY starts after Labor Day, just as K-12 does (or did) and does not finish until early June, because it does not run on two semesters or three quarters, but 12-12-and-6 terms.
So, it comes as no surprise that Dave is already "off" for the summer, which is not necessarily "off," as he'll have his research to contend with and may even be teaching summer courses for all we know.

Can we believe what Dave Przybylo tells us? Last summer he said he was working at General Electric but when he got back and we asked him for workunits he habitually replied, 'Do you want fries with those?'

I ordered the Happy Meal. It came with a toy abacus.

The abacus is the key to getting work. Unfortunately it is only a single precision abacus.

Have you ever tried retrofitting a double precision abacus into an iMac? Problem insoluble. :(

Maybe it was flashbacks to his doctoral study days, when he lacked an assistantship or the assistantship was not very cushy.
