Thanks John. The enigma is that AGP 3850's cost £75 each on ebay, which is the same price as PCIe 4850's. The 4850's are 4 times faster as they have 800 shaders as against 320. Why is AGP stuff so damned expensive bearing in mind its old technology?

Hi Peter, yes it could be! But I tell you what, there are hundreds of thousands of quite serviceable P4 AGP machines out there that could be made into acceptable crunchers with the addition of a suitable graphics card and the GPU application. If some entrepreneur could get hold of a shed load of cards and offer them at a sensible price, there would be a nice profit in it. I'll take 6 right away!

512MB SDRAM DIMMs are about 4 times the price of 1GB DDR2 RAM - limited stocks and antique as Peter mentions.

Actually I have 15 Quads :P but 6 are Shut Down & only 4 of the running ones have been running the MWay Project & then only the GPU Card Part of them, the CPU's run other Projects ... :)

Well I'm buying an i7 at the end of the month, no way I could catch up but i figure my RAC will get MUCH better.

Oh, I'd do what most people do - wait until there is something better to spend the credits on. Whatever it is, you'll be able to buy two if you keep saving those credits ;)

Personally, I'd prefer to be paid in gredits...
