When I checked my RAC this morning, it was around 1800, currently ~3700 and climbing. Most of it on a 4830.

Watch your bank - it'll take your house if it has half a chance.

Especially now the buy-to-crunch market has collapsed.

This deluge has now been happily going on for almost 12 hours, with no indication that it will slow down anytime soon.

It would therefore be safe to assume that the 'nay sayers of scripts' were incorrect in their assumptions that the problem of wu distribution was hindered by the use of the afore mentioned scripts.

I've turned my script off as there is currently no need for it.

CFL I'd love to know how you overcome the fubar that is the BOINC debt system.

Actually, no, it is not provable that scripts were or were not an aspect of the issue based on this alone.

The change to the feeder...I'd like that elaborated upon. If the feeder change enabled a better flow rate into the buffer, then the change mitigated the issue of continual requests. Also bear in mind that the 1 minute rule still exists, as well as a change to not issue a DB query if there are no tasks to send out.

Further, bear in mind what Alinator has pointed out, work stalls can happen because of waiting on slower hosts to return results so that the next set of tasks can be generated. With that in mind, we may see another work shortage in a day or two. May, or may not... Either way, I wouldn't be telling Travis to take his time on the other project...unless you're fully prepared to not gripe and complain about another shortage if it happens...

Well we're used to shortages by now... and restart the scripts if necessary.

Yea, and take the tea and biscuits away from old men who probably prefer cocoa and Jaffa cakes anyway, but wouldn't be seen dead with fairy cakes.

So if I understand this scientific language, There was a minor adjustment to the feeder?
What was different? Just a software problem or was it just hardware related.
I seem to have one of my highest day so far at MW. I will wait after the day's routine BOINC update to confirm this.
If only my computer would stop crashing every 15 minutes. It just doesnt like the wireless card in it it seems.

[edit]To reply to my own thread...
Will this mean that the GPU (ATI) will be able to stay here?[edit/]
