...since the server changes. It goes between fast (one or two pages) and cannot find page (mainly get).

I would say more time should be given before the cuda app is usable to make sure this is stable. Give it another couple weeks as word gets around that there is work here again many will come back and join.

Agreed.

EDIT: I also noticed some time-outs on downloading new WUs for the first time now.
Lovely greetings, Cori

Yea..the site is slow with timeouts every so often..

I didn't even think the Cuda app was released yet? Didn't he pull it back off? And the only Cuda app that is out is for OS X

Have only noticed this in the last hour.
if I click on a message, I have to back out to the home page and then come back in and all loads almost like normal, fairly fast.

This only works for that one message.
The next message I have do the same and back out to the home page then come back in.
Takes a while to read the messages this way though.

The law of unintended consequences...make more WUs available, then the DB can't handle the load efficiently. ;)

Yeah, the server is spending most of it's time sending out WUs so the webpage response time is hurting a little :)

The 3 gpu second wu's sure don't help...hopefully they will be out of the system soon? (they give great credit though).

It's more than just "a little"...and it's not just the webpage performance. Scheduler is not responding fast enough either. You've got an unintentional mini-DoS going on now, IMO...

You might want to increase that backoff to 2 minutes instead of 1 minute... You also might want to reconsider and not delay / scrap the GPU-only project...

IMO, YMMV, etc, etc, etc...

@Travis:

This project should devide the project to 2 hosts (or more):
- Seti@Home is running on 10 hosts / computers -> http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html
- Rosetta@home is running on 5 hosts / computers -> http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_status.php

Running 1 massive boincproject on a small computer like MW is doing cant work - and if the CUDA-DP-App gets ready ..... DoS.

Dont even try to run MW_GPU-project on the current system too ...

Small question: Whats the systemconfig of the current project host / computer / server ?
- CPUs
- RAM
- HDDs (Raid ?)
- UPS

If nothing else split it into two:
web server,
the rest.
This will at least ensure that we get timely messages to say why we aren't getting any WUs. :)
Longer WUs could help the speed of 'the rest'...
Cheers,

PeterV

Seems back up to speed now, and my boxes have WUs.

Wouldn't help everything, because the website still uses the database used by BOINC. What would probably be better is to split the DB server off.

Set up a master-slave-system and let the webserver take the data from the slave.
That way you can reduce the load to the main server and you have a backup in case the server crashes (again).
