I had chutes & ladders.

@ Jim: Hope it goes well. That's a good size knife. Maybe you should stick to butter knives or plastic ones.

Never had those or any games while growing up, Adults don't play games I was told and there was no one around who liked to play games anyway, My age or not.

@ Jim: Take care, Maybe the Better half just needs cooking lessons?

Are you going to volunteer as a taste tester?

SETI having problems, crunching away here, may make a new home.

My Mother taught Me to cook, She needs to have the potatoes washed & scrubbed, plus in the oven and make sure their poked with a knife or a fork before they go in(once per spud is good enough), Mom would have Me set the oven at 350F and bake for about 60 minutes(at least as the bigger the potato, the longer It might need) and to poke them after an hour to see If their done(poke them again after 15 minutes and again at 30 minutes if needed after the 1st poking), They will be hard If the person doing this doesn't keep track of time in relation as to when the potato or whatever went into the oven and then simply doesn't leave the spud in there long enough, When the bubbling has stopped(where It was 1st poked) poke the spuds, they might be done(She has to simply pay attention to what She's doing in the kitchen and follow directions until She understands what needs to be done, As she may I'd think ask questions on how do I do this or that, Unless She's an air-head, of which I doubt), Here's a link on baking a potato(not that You need It, But the wife might possibly). Here's a Google search on the subject, No one is unteachable, Unless they simply can't do as their told(politely of course), In which case banish Her from the Kitchen, Unless She knows how to wash dishes by hand in the sink.

In any case Good Luck with the Wife. This is the only advise I can give outside of be patient and help Her understand, She has a brain in there.
