Good Morning all.

Angel Barfed again(My 17 yr old Calico cat), You should have seen the mess on a white carpet no less, It was stinky freshly eaten cat food and It was in two places too, Happened before I got up, Used some Clorox Oxi Magic on It and after a few minutes wiped It away, Almost as good as new, Sorta. She's on the sofa resting now in Her favorite spot too and She being quiet too.

Poor ol' thing. Our 13 yr old Missy barfs regulary - but that is partly because she has long fur and those fur balls have to get out some how...

Hi SJ. I have some experience, over many years of elderly cats, having had many. She should be on a special diet?

Chris---kind of similar--my dogs have a wheat/protein allergy so I have them on an all-vegetarian diet (specialty food...Sweet Potato Chew treats) and their health has improved dramatically from about 8 months ago with recurring ear infections, etc.

Blurf - Good to hear that the dogs are doing well, and that they have a knowlegeable and caring owner.

Elderly dogs and cats need particular food that their digestive systems can cope with, in the same way that young puppies and kittens do. You don't need to spend lots of money on proprietary brands, all vets have leaflets on good feeding and nutrition for animals of all ages.

If in addition the animals need specialised dietary care because of medical problems, then that can be expensive, but there are animal charities that can often help.

We also have a cat who is diabetic - poor ol' Sam, also 13. On a special diet and 2 shots of insulin a day - 12 hours apart within 30 minutes of the 12 hrs can make it pretty awkward going out and away for the weekend or longer. So because one is on a special diet so is the other....

I hope not, Her furs thin, She doesn't always toss Her food, Sometimes It's clear to gray fluid and sometimes there's fur there, I'm feeding Her IAMs blue label(indoor) which She likes, I tried feeding Her the mature type(purple?) and found She didn't like It and It didn't seem to help, Going to the Vet right now would not be possible, I'd have to wait until after the 1st as It's a $25 visit to a local vet, Its not like this happens everyday, It might be a week between episodes or a couple of days, Right now She's eating Her Tuna(Friskies) for Dinner and yep She loves that a lot(meow, meow, meow, etc, etc). She's pretty well trained and is good company and She might have arthritis in Her shoulder blades just like I do as She complains some when I pick Her up when She's a bit cold, When She's warm no complaints.

Say Hi to Angel, She was 17 years old when I took the photo.

Nice cat!
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

Hi there Jim_S.

Glad to see you over in this community with a bunch of colleague posters, like ourselves.

This, hopefully, will raise a smile and give you some entertainment as time goes on.

As you can see, although many have been here a long time it was around the Fall we started gathering here for crunching, etc.
Go away, I was asleep

Not worth it at the moment. If things go as planned I will have to sell most of what I own in the near future as I am attempting to emigrate.

That is the problem. There is little point in spending money on anything at the moment as I can't take it all with me.

West coast of Canada hopefully. London is not a good place for kids..especially teenage boys so I need to get out.

I'll one day be able to take up an offer I've had to visit some folks in San Francisco.
