The Mythbusters also debunked the moon myths. Nice link about the 30th Anniversary. Many pictures. Here The reason we stopped (as I read in an article by Buzz) is that we accomplished the goal and the nation lost interest as well as NASA so the funding was sent elseware. The current setup is silly. The old rocket setup had more than enough power to boost the capsule to the moon. Always been fascinated about space and I wish I could go to the moon or mars for a mission. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

In a few days it will be the 4oth anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. No Superjoker. I haven't been reading seti at all. I was just preparing a lesson on it for my class seeing as the end of term is coming and I thought it would be fun. I guess it's just an obvious topic for these boards! :D ..actually. I wish I had seen the thread on seti..would have saved myself some time looking for links and stuff for my students!! |

To me a very neat thing is to hear the landing. I have a couple versions of it on records. I do have some great books with wonderful pictures in them. Though I'm sure the 'net has just as much. Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected? If it makes sense, DON'T do it. |

23.30 UK Thanks Chris S, I turned My TV to Dish channel 213 as they have a great shot of the Shuttle Endeavor there and some audio, Not like It was back in the 60's and 70's as not even CNN is covering this live anymore, They say the close out crew has departed the area in preparation for the launch and NASA is watching the weather as there is weather within the 20 mile nautical radius and so NASA is at 9 Minutes and holding so far(out of 21.5 minutes I hear). |

Fox News will be convering the launch today live. Currently they have a pic inset of the launchpad and will switch to full screen when the launch gets closer. However, I'm watching NASA TV on DishNetwork too. Calm Chaos Forum...Join Calm Chaos Now |

And, HDNET (Dish Channel 362) is covering the launch too, in High Def. I wouldn't have known about it myself, the guide doesn't show it, but I had recorded something on that channel earlier, so when I went to that tuner I was surprised to see the launchpad. Just lucky.
