I just found this really cool new thing called Twitter. Bet a lot of you do not know about it yet, but it's the going to be the hottest thing in social networking. So, check out my Twitter website and listen to me tweeting!

I have a twitter account. I don't use it thought. My status has been set to "Still waiting..." for months now. I keep meaning to change it.

Never been one for facebook or anything else similar really. Not a blog person. I don't see why the world should know everything about me anyways.

Ditto to the others.

Social networking the traditional ways, and keeping cousins, etc, at arms length is the way.

I have no Twitter or Facebook accounts. TM there is little interest. So, maybe a little exploration another time, when I can make the time?

Twitter...I barely keep up my free website and haven't been to MySpace in forever, rarely live on Skype or YAHOO Messenger.
Most of the folks I want to see are on one of the project boards or I use the phone.
Must be gettin' old. 8-]

To be fair I think that these social networking sites are more of a generational phenomena than anything else. But like ES99, if it happens to suit you and your lifestyle then great, you can't knock it. Personally I prefer to use Skype, or private forums to keep in touch with my friends, but that's my choice.

I can still enjoy a good chinwag down the phone, and it costs me very little as I have a BT Home hub, hubphone, and Broadband talk. For £6 a month on top of the usual line rental and broadband service charge, I get free UK calls 24/7 and international calls to USA, Canada, Australia etc at 1.25p/minute. South America is 2p/minute.

I happen to really like all my cousins and my family. But none of them are in London and most of them are in Canada, so facebook makes sense. I can keep up with who's had how many babies and see all the pictures.

I've also caught up with loads of old school friends through facebook and can stay in touch with people I used to work with.

I'm trying not to be a twit...so i don't twitter and i don't tweet...But Twitter does have it's uses...When Sarge tweets that he's out somewhere...i can sneak into his house and secretly replace his regular instant coffee with de-caffeinated instant coffee crystals...Let's see if he notices...

I thought the Friends Reunited web site was the one to get in touch with old friends from primary school, the little school, secondary school, University and the myriad places you may have worked.

I must admit to joining it years ago, and occasionally look in to see the changes. But, I think that network is past it's sell by date?

The only messages I got from there were from fellow students I barely remembered messaging me and apologising for being such jerks at school. Still, it's nice to know their lives are back on track now they're out of jail.
