I'm still getting this error. From what I've been able to figure out, the PPC applications that MilkyWay uses would work on a G4 processor, but it wasn't compiled to run on a G3 processor. The application page simply says "Mac OS X 10.3 or later running on Motorola PowerPC" which technically would cover G3 Macs, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The description might need to be updated if this was intentional.

Can you check and see what executable they sent you?

There is an app for the PPC Macs, but there is a bug that will sometimes send the wrong app to the systems.

You should have this one on your system.

Yes, that's the one in the MW project directory.

I've got BOINC running on an old Mac because why not it's not doing anything. It's slow but gets stuff done. I went through to see which projects would actually send it work units and was intrigued that Milkyway@Home sent work units to the machine. The problem is they error out immediately with "incompatible cpu-subtype". Are there any MW tasks compatible with an old OSX/PPC computer? Most other projects will report there's nothing available for or the project is incompatible with the CPU type and doesn't send anything, but this one sends then fails so I wondered if it was incompatible or just wasn't working right.
