22) Questions and Answers : Wish list : Date/Time on Stats Pages (Message 620)
Posted 27 Nov 2007 by Paratima
Post:
Wouldn't take much effort to achieve a great result: Put the date and time on every stats page, showing when the stats were generated. OR you could display the timestamp on the home page (or the server status page) - even easier!

You can even use UTC for the time, if you feel you must.

A better option than using UTC would be to show the timestamp in the user's own time zone. This could be entered as a Milkyway@Home preference, seeing as BOINC seems to be time zone ignorant.

Oops! This should have gone on a thread under Web Site. Admin, feel free to move it.

24) Message boards : Number crunching : Cheaters??? (Message 609)

Ah, the user referred to in my post was the same as the last one you mentioned, Martin. Looking at all of these, I've got to say, it doesn't look like cheating as much as a miscalculation in whatever process asks for and/or grants credit. I wonder if the machines we're looking at are seriously overclocked. And if so, why it doesn't generate an error on the WU. Questions, questions.

Somebody needs to be looking at these, right soonish.

While you're at it, you could check out user Michele ANSALDI, who has one machine, cpu #1241, with a RAC of 77,717 and total credit of 798,840.98.

The other computers of this user look OK. This one looks like an error.

It's a looooooong weekend for most folks in the U.S. I suspect that includes the elves that hand craft our work-units.

Oh, and note that the Server Status page has a specific error state called "Out of Work Units" or some such, but is happily reporting that all is well.

The XML stats were updated on 11-12.

The next, and so far, last, update was on 11-18.

Updates every six days don't go very far toward creating a sense of excitement.

Maybe it needs a cron job?

Can someone check that the xml stats are updating?

The last time we had 3rd party stats was 11-12.

Thanks.
31) Questions and Answers : Wish list : Stats update frequency (Message 467)

Post:
I will second sTrey's observation. The update frequency appears to be approaching infinity. 3rd-party stats engines are not running.
