How can I set M@H to use the CPU only for N-Body Simulation and GPU for Separation? Maybe with an app_config but I don't know what I have to write.
2) Message boards : Number crunching : Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessor (Message 69364)

I just thought that since they have so many cores, they could do more WUs at the same time.
However, thanks for the answers.
3) Message boards : Number crunching : Radeon R9 280X for MilkyWay@Home (Message 69348)

Post:
Is a Radeon R9 280X useful for MilkyWay@Home? I know they have great FP64 performance and it could be useful for this project.

Do you know if Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessors work with BOINC? A 57 cores 1.1 GHz costs about 200€ and it would be useful with N-Body Simulations.

Have you downloaded the latest drivers for your integrated GPU?

...just running 1 stick of DDR4-2400 on a 2400G and getting ~60K points per day here

AMD Ryzen processors work better with high-speed RAM (3000 MHz at least). So if you change your 2400 MHz RAM with a 3000 or 3200 MHz one you'll get more points per day.

Here you can see the FP32 / FP64 GFlops of many GPUs. I think that GTX Titan and HD7970 are the best option for cost/power.

9) Message boards : Number crunching : Maximum number of task (Message 67657)

Is there a way to set a maximum number of tasks running simultaneously?
I have a Ryzen 7 1700 (8 cores, 16 threads) set to work with 15 cores but with M@H it uses all cores for CPU tasks, ignoring GPU ones.

I know that the AMD FirePro S9150 gives 2.5 TFlop in Double Precision operations (with just 235 W TDP). Can it be the best solution for M@H?

So, a GTX 1080 Ti is useless for this project...

If I want to add 2 commands for app_config (max cores number for N-Body and 2 tasks per GPU) I just have to write the 2 commands in the app_config?
13) Message boards : Number crunching : GTX 1080 Ti vs RX 480 (Message 67609)

Is it normal that a GTX 1080 Ti (core clock over 2 GHz) takes the same time to complete a task compared to a RX 480 4GB?
I have both in my PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor (overclocked to 3.9 GHz). They both take 2 minutes to complete a task.

I can't decide what GPU to buy.

Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce Extreme Edition
3584 CUDA cores / 1746 MHz
12.5 TFlops

AMD RX Vega 64
4096 Stream Processors / 1546 MHz
12.6 TFlops

Which one is faster for BOINC crunching?
