I've got one WU that failed and it's with the same problem as yours: http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/result.php?resultid=31051023

The "mix" ones are supposed to be a new set of WUs aren't they? http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/forum_thread.php?id=2662

Most likely cause is that there is something wrong with the new WUs themselves.

No. The credits are only relevant for people for whom positions on a virtual scoreboard is more important than the work being done by this project.

My MW is still using 100% CPU.
I have 8 CPU cores and 2 GPUs. Normally I run E@H on all 8 CPU cores but have had to use only 6 since MW now needs 2 cores to run 2 GPUs at full speed.
Win7 64 with HD5970

I currently crunch Einstein on my CPU and would love to crunch on my ATI GPU as well but as far as I can see it's Nvidia only over there.
Apart from Milkyway all other ATI GPU projects I can find seem to be rather pointless.

Ah well, at least I'm saving some money on reduced electricity bills.

My individual work units get the same credits as before.
Don't know if I get credit for double work units, but I'm definatly getting double (or more) credits in total.

To me this seem to boil down to:
1. Pick the projects that maximize your credits
or
2. Pick the projects that do work you find worthwhile

I'm solidly in camp #2. The "worthiness" of the MW project is far more important to me than any rank I have on some list and me losing credits when the server goes down.

We don't know beforehand. That's why we wait for the result to come back and see if the fitness that you calculated is better than the fitness of the members of our search population. If it will improve the search, we validate it first. If it won't, then we validate it based on your error rate.


Ok. So all WUs have "minimum quorum" set to 1. Then you decide to send it out again after getting the result.
Thought maybe you had some magic way of setting minimum quorum to 1 or 2 before sending a WU to the first client.

Not at all familiar with the science here but I just gotta ask:

If you know beforehand that a WU will not improve your search, why send it to a client?
