Ah, but that's the thing, this setup has been running untouched for many moons. The PC's and Linux boxes are all stable, are rarely touched and are happy campers. This laptop is my main machine since I travel so much and I've not done anything to it significant that would result in a credit reset that I'm aware of. Doesn't mean I didn't just that I'm not aware of anything. What could cause a single machine to reset it's computation totals and keep the account numbers intact for a single project?

Again, may not be worth the trouble, and things are looking up in the numbers department. I'm not a credit hog but it does give me a sense of how well or poorly any particular system is performing. With two full time systems and one part time, (my laptop), the numbers and work continues to increase. I'm hoping to get a really fast Linux box running in a few more weeks, (I have to return home first).

Thanks again for any and all input.

Hi,

No, I'm careful to keep the computers running this software separated in naming conventions, the user account is identical on all machines and I have no significant issues with the remaining projects. The credit balance has once again started to grow from zero on this machine. The current balance on this machine shows total Work Done of 38,295.8 while the graph is showing 7,506.21 today. My project Work Done screen shows the total for my account for all machines which is correct. I'm trying to figure out why this project essentially "reset" itself to zero on this machine while the Climate Prediction project which also went to zero for a bit recovered and is now graphing the correct number of 93,501.23 and the total for all machines of 325,398.56 on the Work Done screen. I know this particular machine has completed more than 7,500 some-odd points/credits.

This may be a mystery not worth too much time and effort to solve and I don't pay a lot of attention to BOINC projects, just let them run in the background. Every once in a while I'll check and it's just percolating along merrily day and night.

Thanks for any/all input or thoughts on what happened.

My credit history line went from about 55,000 to zero July 14, 2011. I can see where work unit credits are posting to the system but the line does not move. Now on August three it moved off the zero line. My Project page shows 35,000 credits showing on this machine.

I have two other machines running various projects, including this one. I have not been following the "double credit" topic but even so, should not have lost ALL the units previously completed. I'm not a credit hog but it does give me a good feel for what my various systems are doing. I travel a lot and visit my machines seldom enough that I see significant changes on them. My laptop is run much more often and I track how the system is performing closely.

I am currently running six project. Climateprediction went from 55,000 to zero July 17, 2011. July 23, 2011 that project suddenly reset credits to the original numbers, flatlined at that setting until July 27, 2011 where it went up over 90,000 July 29, 2011. Given two project suddenly started exhibiting similar behavior I'm at a loss to figure out what happened or if there is something that needs fixing. If so, the next question is how do I fix it?

Thanks to any and all with help and suggestions.

HI,

I've never written in this system so please bear with me. I'm running several projects under BOINC on a few machines. The laptop I'm using works fine with one exception. The work unit credits show activity and credits however, the statistics view suddenly went to zero, in spite of the system, internet and so forth, showing activity.

I'm running a MacBook 13" system, OS X Snow Leopard, 4 Gb RAM, a couple hundred GB free on the drive. Any help or suggestions on how o recover this via the graphic functions of BOINC Manager?

Thanks,

B. B.
