It is a disaster if true!

Why bothering with high clock speed issues ( heat, power consumption and fan noise ) when it is useless !!!!

I was wondering :

What does 100 Mhz do in terms of crunching time per WU. I mean if I downclocked my gpu clock speed from 800 to 700 what is the difference will be in seconds?

So I guess I'll keep using MU for my CPU also

thanks

Yes, I mean by more useful that the project use the 6 cores at its full power for single WU. Even MW uses 1 core per WU, so my 6 cores CPU crunches 6 WUs at a time and it takes about 2 hours per WU.

I think that the 1090T is suitable for any boinc project. If you want a single threaded project I can advice you my favourite (scientific) projects:

Climateprediction: Climate models with long runtime (on my Q9550 one model for 48 h and other models 360 h)
Einstein@home: rock stable and one of the projects with published scientific results (a number of found pulsars)
LHC Version 2: Test4Theory runs under boinc in a Virtual Machine. Invitation code necessary
World Community Grid: a lot of projects under one roof. You can find medicine, climate, physics, energy

But there are a lot of more projects out there which you can crunch.

Cheers

Nowi

Mine has 6 cores so I need to use its full power to a single scientific project.

So please advise which project is more useful with my CPU

Thanks for your reply

I am sorry but 1090T what???? Do you mean the AMD Black Edition - AMD Phenom II 1090T edition?

Yes

Hi:

What version of BOINC are you using? mine is 6.12.34 and it works fine, it downloads one WU automatically when the other is finished. The list has always 12 tasks. No special setup made.

Is it usefull with MW?

How much will it take for single WU? Daily outcome?

Thanks

Hi:

Could anyone advice a suitable project for my 1090t (scientific only ).

Thanks

This is frustrating

The only reasonable solution is to increase either the WU size so it takes hours to finish along with the credit , Or to increase the number of WUs so users could have enough load to crunch.

As I understood, you need bigger server to achieve that… how much will it cost ?
I've 6970 and it works with very few projects beside MW which I love, but the frequent crashing drives me crazy. I think I am going to get rid of my card and get a Nvidia as it runs with a lot more projects.

Note: still no WUs is sent to my machine so I guess the server is down.

My 6970 with no OC (@830) reaches a minimum 500 GFLOPS/Second easily.

So far all the failures are with CrossFire cards - anyone successfully loaded 11.4 onto single card 5XXX or 6XXX ?

Is it worthy to crunch on my amd 1090 3.6 ghz? How much credit will it make?
Also, can you suggest a backup projects for my machine: AMD 1090 3.6, ATI 6970.

Thanks
