Confirmed.

I have a couple now on one of my hosts, so now the next adventure begins! ;-)

<edit> I take it giving it a unique name did the trick?

Actually we just needed to restart the boinc daemons. :P

Hi Everyone,

I generated some interesting images for a publication Heidi is working on yesterday, and thought they'd be worth sharing.

I took 10,000 external IP addresses of active hosts, did a GeoIP lookup for their lat/long and then plotted them using google maps. The first is a set of points, and the second is a heatmap (generated with heatmap.js).

Enjoy!

Cosmology, for now, fills the "CPU gap" left by Milkyway and their period of downtime. I'm phasing out all Cosmology CPU work units as a) they take wayy too long and b) Milkyway has their shit back together and, once-again, CPU work units are flying out the door. :)

I run already run Einstein GPU and CPU work units right now. Testing the new AMD 7790 video card on their platform. It's an inexpensive, powerful video card. Recommended!

Glad everything is working. Sorry it took so long everyone!

OK, what's the story here?

There doesn't seem to be any of the MWSMF in the field. The server status page shows 500 ready and zero sent and has been that way for over 24 hours.

They should be getting sent out now.

[Agreed, but it looks like the problem is the scheduler doesn't have the STRAIGHT CPU APPLICATION configured any longer for Winboxes, if the Applications page is to be believed.

There doesn't seem to be a reference to the file:

milkyway_separation_1.00_windows_intelx86.exe,

in the MilkyWay@Home section, which is the one you need to run MW on the CPU.

There should be a line with this information for 32 bit Winboxes:

Platform: Microsoft Windows (98 or later) running on an Intel x86-compatible CPU

Version: 1.00 <---- Note: NO plan_class

Installation Date: 08-Feb-2012, 17:08 UTC.

And for 64 bit Winboxes (milkyway_separation_1.00_windows_x86_64.exe):

Platform: Microsoft Windows running on an AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU

Version: 1.00 <---- Note: NO plan_class

Installation Date: 08-Feb-2012, 17:08 UTC.

This Information used to be on the Applications page, but has disappeared with the recent upgrades and updates.

Yeah, I just fixed this. Any better now?

Hi Travis,

see Number Crunching msgs 58868/58714/58732.

I have a E4700 dual core and a wee GPU that is set to receive no tasks.

I am now running solely S@H on both cores as I am receiving no CPU tasks from MW@H.

I am not complaining as I still have SETI to fall back on, I am just keeping you informed.

Thanks for all your hard work, moving is never easy.

John

Been working on the no CPU workunits issue, hoping to get some feedback from the boinc lists. I will keep everyone posted.

No it does not. Are the WUs only DP now?

WUs have always been double precision only.

It seem that there are no units available? My computer used to chew a lot of Separation work units, but the project status page (http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/server_status.php) also shows none for Separation.

There shouldn't be any separation workunits, those should be under milkyway, as far as I know.

Most AMD cards seem to work fine here. But my 6970s only create Computation errors since they run the OpenCL tasks again.

http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/results.php?hostid=496290

They worked fine before with OpenCL.

I run the 7.0.64 (64bit) version of Boinc, and use 13.4 WHQL as AMD driver. I wonder why it worked before, with the same setup (about one week ago) and now it won't.
My idea was, Milkyway@home made changes, because the OpenCL apps were not working properly any more.

Just got another set of WUs (1.02 OpenCL), all finished with computation errors. But run-times seem a little short with 27 seconds.

Removed and reattached the project, and will see how it is going.

Regards

Sebastian*

PS: 160 Errors so far

Update:

Still computation error on the 6970. I brought a 6950 online, also computation Errors.

What version of catalyst are you running, if you happen to know...

I marked something red...

So before you were getting the opencl workunits and they were working, and it looks like now you're getting the 0.82 ATI (non-opencl) workunits and they're not working? At least looking at the server you should be getting 0.82 ATI (non-opencl) WUs.

As you can see by event log in the first few lines I requested tasks and it says that I don't need any.
There are none on my list so I closed down my malariacontrol tasks to force milkyway to send me tasks and now at the end few lines it is saying no tasks available!
Which is right?
All it wants to do is defer communication!

Could you do a manual update? I don't have any entries in the scheduler's log for your userid, so I can try and debug the issue.

4.) Winbox CPU host not getting anything.

Looks like you just got some? From the scheduler (I XXXed out your IP and host id just in case you're hiding those):

2013-06-11 19:32:15.5706 [PID=22629] Request: [USER#5696] [HOST#XXXXX] [IP XXXXXXXX] client 6.12.34

<snip scheduler log>

Nope, that was this host, which had been suffering from case 2 and is now drawing nBodies, no GPU work, but no CPU MilkyWays since I set him up to test 1.18

The ones I was talking about are the single core Intel and AMD's without any GPU capability which had been running regular MW CPU tasks, but have completed and reported all but one and haven't gotten any new work since early on the 10th.

This one is currently hungry for CPU work but isn't getting any. I assume he should not be getting nBody but should still be getting regular MW CPU work.

I don't have any scheduler requests from a host with that #. Could you do a manual update?
