Hi,

I'm running boinc-7.2.42 on powerpc-linux-gnu and I have noticed that it's not getting new work units any more. In fact, I noticed this a long time ago but haven't looked into it until now. The last message from stdoutdae.txt was:

10-Jun-2013 06:10:54 [Milkyway@Home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
10-Jun-2013 06:10:54 [Milkyway@Home] Requesting new tasks for CPU

14-Jun-2013 11:22:41 [Milkyway@Home] Tasks for AMD/ATI GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them

...and this was the end of it. My system doesn't have a usable GPU (PowerBook G4), it was always using the CPU for the tasks.

Looking at all_projects_list.xml now I can see that "powerpc-linux-gnu" is no longer listed in the <platforms> tag, this post seems to confirm that.
I'm only wondering if there has been an official announcement of dropping powerpc-linux-gnu support and the reasoning behind it. Does anyone have more information on that?

Thanks,
C.
