Well, it's working in the idea that I'm getting work, but only a couple WU's at a time.

Let me guess, we crunched 2,147,483,647 work units lol. Might I suggest you plan for this eventuality, as it will happen again and more quickly as GPUs will continue to get faster and faster. Without knowing how your DB is set up, or even what DB you are using I could not begin to offer a solution but would be happy to have a look if y'all have room for another volunteer :)

The cards look like absolute DP beasts, according to Wikipedia the integrated graphics on Tiger lake have 1.2gf DP performance, my 3090 only has 0.5gf.
If the numbers are correct it looks like these cards are better perf per watt than a Radeon VII when the discrete ones are out (supposed to be 30w).

Keep in mind that Nvidia isn't all that in terms of DP performance. In terms of raw DP (FP64) performance AMD has far better offerings. Right tool for the job and all :)

No worries here. Just crunchin away on whatever comes next. Ya did what ya could and from my personal point of view it's all good. thanks for your work :)

Besides, my 84 and 85 trickle is way down now so life is good in the cosmos.

Thanks for that.
I'm actually not that fussed about badges, but some other projects show them when looking at your account, so it would be nice to see them in our accounts here as well. But not a major issue for me. In fact the only reason I posted was because of the mention of 13 years, and I realised I have 13 years here as well.
Edit: BTW that's actually quite useful - I didn't realise how many badges I had at various projects!

Glad to be of help :)

It would prevent me from posting in the forum to see them :D
PS I think I should see a 13 year badge once I post this.

If all you want to do is look at your badges you could just go to https://stats.free-dc.org which is linked near the bottom of your account main page.
30) Message boards : Number crunching : Can you add option to not run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available? (Message 70438)

That can be achieved by setting up a second location preference. For instance, the default setting can run GPU work, and you could set up, let's say work location, to do CPU work. That's how I do it. To do this, go to project preferences. Under the edit preferences link there are buttons to add separate preferences for home, work, and school. After you get a setting for the non-default preferences, go to your account page and click on the "computers on this account" link. Now looking at your list of computers, on the left hand side is a link for details, click on that. At the bottom there is a location drop-down menu. Select your location and then click the update location button. Hope that helps :)

Confirmed. Seeing many failed validations on the 84 stripe as well. Not sure how to get accurate numbers as there are still stripe 85 validate errors trickling in, but my validate error rate is ~10%, and clicking on the first 10 errors found them all to be 84s. If there is a way and it would help I would be happy to narrow a search to find out exactly how many of which I'm looking at but I know it's going south for stripe 84.

Hey All,

For whatever reason, the Stripe 84 and 85 Separation runs sometimes start getting these validate errors after a couple weeks. I want to try to crunch workunits for these stripes as long as possible, but I also don't want to waste peoples cycles. What percentage of runs end up in these validate errors? If it is greater than 10% or so, I am willing to take the runs down, but if it is only a few workunits here and there I would like to try to get more optimization done.

Tom

Personally, my ratio of validate errors to valid work units, I'm seeing around 0.5% validate errors. I was a bit concerned about the raw number of validate errors until I compared them to my valid results, and you saying pretty much less than 10% ok (obviously the less the better) I'm feeling better about it.

Feeling very stupid right now. I went into the Milkyway preferences and changed the settings under Home and saved. Nothing happened. It still says it's using the default. How do I get it to use the Home settings?

Did you remember to move the pc to the Home location?

Apparently not. How do I do that?

On your account main page, click on "computers on this account". When the list of computers comes up, click on the details link on the left side, under the computer ID. At the bottom of the details page is a location drop-down menu. Select your choice then click update location.

Not the first time a driver update broke a DC project. I think it was last year any NVIDIA driver past a certain point caused problems for F@H. You got it right, roll back the driver and keep truckin :)

I think it has something to do with CUDA/Driver version but I have no way to be sure...

Well, seti@home has the same problem with the most recent drivers under Windows. I would roll the driver back. If memory serves from the seti project 436.x was the most recent driver that worked for crunching with Nvidia on Windows.
