I installed BOINC on a machine that has an Intel motherboard GPU (Raptor Lake-H/P/PX 80/96E) and a 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700H CPU (more issues in another thread). The problem is this… Milkway will NOT download work units if any non-Intel GPU’s are selected in the preferences. Disabling GPU work units in the Milkway preferences does NOT help. The work-around was to remove check marks from both Nvidea and AMD GPU’s and then reconnect and download CPU work units. This is OK for now but more functionality is needed for my other machines that do have Nvidea GPU’s. Ideally, this would be handled with separate preferences by specific machine. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be an available option in BOINC.
2) Message boards : Number crunching : Why is all credit the same? (Message 64228) Posted 7 Jan 2016 by tgm Post: I've had some recent issues on one of my computers, so I looked to see if results had been uploaded. While looking at the results I noticed that ALL of the uploaded results were receiving the same credit no matter how how much CPU time was expended (on all computers). This is certainly not standard in the BOINC community. So why is this?
3) Message boards : Number crunching : Unusual..........time to completion (Message 8230) Posted 9 Jan 2009 by tgm Post: I've noticed that MW sets the same deadline date on all workunits. The expected work quantity within each is not reflected in the deadline at all. It's not an issue for a short duration WU, but quite a different matter when the projected duration is more than the hours available until deadline. I'm finding myself manually aborting quite a few lately due to this issue.
