All I can get is requesting tasks for GPU. My GPU's are running GPU-grid. That is on the boxes with GPU's. The non-gpu boxes don't seem to be getting anything at all.

I want some CPU WU'S, but cannot get the darned server to give me any! Well, guess the other projects will kick in higher up the chain.

Boincstats should read the new numbers, (rather, the correct numbers) at its next update. I am hoping to see a day with 1,000,000 + credits.

I lost about 300 WU's but that is a whole heap better than 1 million already reported!

Good work guys, taking the boxes off of "SUSPEND" as soon as I can, but not getting WU's in most of them. (yet)

Parity - Schmarity...... THE LAST TIME I LOOKED THIS PROJECT WAS NOT AT BERZERKELY

Lets just call a spade a spade.

Some people crunch just for the science and that is great!

Some people crunch for the competition and that is fine.

I am a little of both, but more for the competition.

What that boils down to is this. I have several computers of various ages and horsepower. I set goals for myself and strive for them. I am going to allocate my horsepower where it will help my goals, pure and simple. Right now, SETI pays well, so most is there. A couple on Einstein to reach 3 million. 3 on Rosetta which pays NOTHING 13K seconds pays 12 credits. THEN I found MW! This project pays well, even on the P-4's, it helps my Combined Boincstats, and I believe that the project is worthwhile. WOW! I started here with a P-4 and a XEON, left when the credits got slashed, then, when the opt-ap was reinstated, I came back with the P4, a P-D and 2 of my quads, which can all do max work per day. I get NO penalty for taking time away from SETI, and if I do not get MW, I have plenty of other work. I compete for world ranking on boincstats, but mainly with myself. Can I find just the right combination of projects and tweak that extra few flops out of a box somewhere? As long as the credits on MW remain where they are, or even rise, the rest of my acreage (small farm) will be coming to MW. Who benefits? ME and THE PROJECT... a win/win.

MW has had problems of late, so has SETI. So what? Any project trying to improve is gonna have more bugs than a bait shop! If your project is worth crunching (aka pays well and is science worthy) your crunchers will STILL come back after an outage, no matter how long. I have no problem with the 12/core limit. My boxes just switch back to whatever else they are crunching and wait for the next d/l.

*edit* -- Travis, you (and everyone else) are doing well! Just remember, it is YOUR project, not D.A.'s. If a company wants workers, they have to pay to get them, and if they want HARD workers, they have to pay more than minimum wage. You have a good project starting, you need crunchers, so chase the moths out of your "credit wallet" and hire some good help!

*slips climbing off soap box, twisting ankle*

Now, I am going to hobble out and attach another box or 2 to MW.

For what it is worth:

P-4 HT, 3.2 Ghz, XP Pro.

SETI - 204 seconds per credit (optimized app)
MW - 312 seconds per credit
E@H - 388 seconds per credit

(above rounded to nearest whole number)

These figures are for a single thread of the HT.

The point is:

I monitor how well my vegetable garden is doing by each project's RAC. SETI kicked about 4K of my 21K, so, I went looking. It took a while to figure out that it was the CUDA mess and not a failure in one or more of my boxes that was causing it.

Yes I am one of the "credit hounds" because I am always looking for a way to boost my production. If that is an opti-app, an O/C, another box, or whatever it takes. I will probably put a celeron on MW just to keep my acct. active, but at these low credit levels, the quads will have to stay where they are for now. I want to make 1 meg on Rosetta, but at 9 credits or less per WU, its gonna take a long time. Same with MW. Apparently MW has done enough preliminary research that extensive crunching power is no longer required.

Whoever said that the project which wants volunteers will give the most credits has it pretty well right. My power will go there, and the pocket calculators will stay on the others. Come to think of it, it's kinda like the working world -- do I wanna flip burgers at McD's @ minimum wage or work for GM @ $50.00 per hour? I think I will build chebys.......

So where can a guy get a decent amount of credit?

I started here with the intent of moving from SETI due to the CUDA debacle and a severe drop in RAC (4K). I get here and start moving boxes as SETI runs dry.....BAM... invalidate the app and cut credits.

I guess nobody wants my 20K RAC of crunching power. Oh well, off to search for a new home I guess.

Stock app takes me anywhere from around 80 to 90 mins per WU, the optimized app was taking around 14 to 18 mins. Quite a difference...

That is what I saw as well with my P-4 HT's, my Q6600 quad was doing an optimized in about 4-8 mins. I have NNT'd all MW machines for the time being.

Gonna try re-attaching with one SSE3 box. If I end up losing points I will shut it back down.

I've been running with the latest SSE3 app all day without problems. The WUs are taking slightly (minimally) longer, but it's still turning WUs around far faster than the stock app.

Pentium D working fine, just attached P-4 HT, waiting for first results to come in.

YIPPIE SKIPPIE!!!!!

Cant wait to see what one of the Quad-cores will do........
