Im also wondering if i should run MW on my i7 68 hours for a work unit to complete and only getting 213 for credit stinks. And I have more of them to crunch. NNT for me.

The mac is doing them in 9 hours. why so slow on a i7 quad? the same DE- separation units.

My intel dual core mac is not getting any more comp errors but the nbodys are are using 1.95% of my cores. Is this something new?

That's not 1.95%, but 1.95 processors. There's a new multithreaded N-body which should be a more effective use of a CPU than running an individual N-body on each core. BOINC tells the application how many threads to use, which in this case would be 2. The OpenMP one is also right now only on OS X; Linux should be soon and then Windows if I can get it to work.

Also I had aborted all tasks on my i7 920, and downloaded the new work units. They got to 32 hours and then went to comp error. So I aborted most of them and kept 8 to see what happens to them.

How recently? It seems your errors have been removed from the database.

Thanks for the answer on the core usage. Work is getting done faster on the Mac.
On the i7 I aborted all work units 47 hours ago. The 8 I kept 3 had comp errors the other 5 are currently at 47 hours with anywhere between 2 and 19 hours to complettion. Will see what happens if I want to undo NNT on this rig.

Im running stock apps on both computers. CPU only.

I will keep my NNT on untill things settle down.

Ive had that same problem with my mac and the i7. They crunch for 32 hours and are allmost done then get a comp error. Kind of ticks me off. So have set both for NNT and will let them die.

Both my mac and i7 get allmost done 30 plus hours then get a computational error. I think i will set NNT. Id rather get ghosts from seti than to error out all the time.

I dont post here normally as milkyway is my back up project for seti@home. I know some of you also do or did seti. There is a project that has had a lot of server issues. The difference is that seti communicates a hell of a lot better. My one observation is that milkyway will not post a little notice saying that hey we have a problem hang on to your hats a few hours ,days, or what ever. Now I know seti doesnt always give an up to the second account . But in my opinion if your web page is up and you crash , post a blurb, it will work wonders for keeping morale up.

Me, i like the science this project does i will stick around and do my small pittance for it.

I lost 5 work units this morning when milkyway said they were aborted. They timed out, I take it that what ever crashed they could not get home. And here Seti has had no work so I was hoping to up my rac a little here. O well. stuff happens.
