It is also an anti-spam measure, not just security against flamers, so would kill 2 birds with one stone. Of course, it would be necessary for mods with a RAC of 0 to be able to post :) |

Posted 13 Apr 2009 by Debs Post: I am setting up a new domain for zslip.com which should come on line within the next 24 to 48 hours. Great job, thanks. It's great to see the resource back up so quickly on a holiday weekend, when others are still either talking about it or being critical of the fact you are just as able to make mistakes or have problems as the rest of us :) Thanks again :) |

Posted 13 Apr 2009 by Debs Post: At risk of taking sides, I for one am grateful to Gipsel for producing all the opt apps, and to ICE for the work he has done in making them all available in one easy to find venue. So what if the site is down at the moment? I hope it is something that is not causing ICE a problem, and that he has control over getting them online again when he has the time. Please people, whatever fights you have had in the past, remember that ICE is providing a service which nobody else had provided, with a public and easy to find link to Gipsel's apps, and at his own expense (it doesn't matter whether that expense is small or large, point is he did not have to provide it!). Surely if anyone is sulking here, it is those who criticise the person who provides something for free, not the provider who for whatever reason has had to take it down for a while? Has anyone also considered that if there is shortly to be a separate GPU project and a change of GPU app, maybe ICE taking the site down for a while is doing a favour to anyone who might have downloaded it now and find it not working in a few days (whether that was part of the intent or not...)? Sometimes newbies don't check all posts to see what status the project has... If this post upset anyone, then I am sorry that you are so sensitive :) |

Posted 12 Apr 2009 by Debs Post: Sun is still waiting to rise on Easter Morning where i am...And when it does i still have laundry to do. But if mankind killed God on Good Friday, and he proved we couldn't do it on Easter Monday, how does that make today Easter morning? I never understood the importance of Easter Sunday from a biblical standpoint, given that it is supposed to be a biblical holiday... EDIT: Oh yeah, I get it. It's a special day coz today we are allowed to eat chocolate and do nice things for each other :) |

The problem with servers

Hmm, just as I read this, I noticed the system I put my GPU in has had a steady stream of work for a while now :) Now to figure out why I have has a few -177 error codes. EDIt: Ah it seems that FreeHAL does not play nicely with the MW GPU app. I guess I need to RTFM again for the GPU app and change some settings :) |
