Yes the one that had 2 hours to go also ended up with comp error. So I aborted the remaining 4 WU's... no point wasting anymore time. I switch back to WCG. Maybe some can find out what the problem is or was!

No I have other projects on this PC and they are able to upload and download without a problem.

After re-setting this project I am able to upload 1 out of 2. The 2nd WU keeps getting a HTTP error.

However in about 5 hours I will give up on this project and move on to the next one.

Since I was not able to upload the WU's I did that were due on the 12 - 15 I have reset the project and going to try that. If that don't work then I guess I will move on to a project that I can help. Maybe someone can come up with a reason why I seem to be the only one with this problem.

It's the same on nearly all project, prost in the NC forum for quickest response. The way I read your post indicated attitude, sorry if there was none intended, but we've seen many times across all porjects 'threats' to not crunch a project until a problem was rectified.

Have you reset your router? Don't have one!

If you don't have a router, your modem then....

Are you still getting HTTP errors after these 8hrs have passed?

Been trying to upload 2 of these since the 7th of Feb. I did get some to upload about 4 total. I gave up on those 2 that I keep getting the HTTP Errors on and aborted the transfer but at this time I can't send any report because BOINC says the project is down.

This Laptop gets rebooted about 6 or more times a week. Plus other projects that are running on this laptop will upload/download without a problem.

I think after these last WU's are done I will try resetting the project.

Having problems with HTTP Errors. WU's won't upload but I am getting work. I have now set to NNT until I can get this fixed. Otherwise there is no point of me running this project. I have posted this problem on the Q&P board but no reply so far.

And with your attitude you're upset that no one has replied!

Have you reset your router? Rebooted your PC? Have you posted on the SETI.USA forums?

I'm not seeing problems with http errors in my message log.

Have you reset your router? Don't have one!

Rebooted your PC? Yes

Have you posted on the SETI.USA forums? Yes

Not sure what you mean by my "attitude"... I just said I set my PC to NNT until I get the problem fixed, otherwise there is not much point in running the project. I am not upset... just not sure what is going on and like to get it corrected.

If no one checks the other MB how are we going to get problems taken care of?
Thanks for your help!

There is another reason why I am dropping the project and that is due to the weather and lost of Power. I never know when a storm may pop up and I have to shut everything down for as much as 6 hours. If one come in the middle of the night and I get up and shut things down I am not going to wait up to turn them on again... I go back to bed!

BTW I have run this project before and had no proplems with the deadlines. I hate missing deadlines. Yes I am the one to blame here because I didn't check before I came back to this project. I just re-attached because my Team picked Milkyway as the Project Of The Month (POTM).

Like I said I will reurn some day when the deadline are not so short.

Well, it looks like I will be droping this project for now until some time when you have longer deadlines.

My laptops can't keep up with them. In fact I have a Compaq that shows 2 WU's due tomorrow and they show 11 hours each. Milkyway is the only project on this laptop and by looking at the deadline I know only 1 will make it.

I had one laptop that downloaded it's limit but the days were so near the deadline that by the time it finished 2 of them the other 4 had do chance of making the deadline.

To top it off I don't have a "always on" network connection.

So as my laptops finish I will be done.

I run 4 projects per/PC which gives each 25% and I get a message that seem to try and make me feel bad because it tells me that the PC is on X % and BOINC runs X% of the time and this project (Milkyway) only gets 25% of that.

Also it seems that BOINC does not know how to adjust how many WU's it can do when the CPU useage is set to anything other than 100%.

I have a Dell Laptop that overheats if I go over 80% of CPU use.

However, BOINC will request WU as if it uses 100%.

Hmmmmm, a dilemma for sure, I have 2 Laptops but they run @ 100% 24/7 without a problem of over heating so I haven't run into the problem your having yet.

Try posting your problem/question here in the Questions and problems Forum. Somebody there should be able to help you out.

From what I learned over on the BOINC MB it takes BOINC a month to "learn" that it can't download but so many WU's because of the CPU useage. It seems that it is not part of the "get more work" section. The only to fix this is to lower the amount of days.

However I had 2 other laptops that lost WU's because BOINC had to stop running Milkyway in order to meet the deadline of other projects.

Even with just 2 projects Milkyway gets upset because it "only get 50%" of the computer time!

To come down to it Milkyway needs to learn to play nice with others and stop thinking it's the ONLY project worth running!

If you are going to place high demands on user that want to help in this project you should make a statement on your home page informing folks that this project very short deadlines and hould be the only project on any PC... or something like that.

I have run into problems where the short deadline causes BOINC to run Milkyway almost 100% of the time and then when the other project has to run to meet their deadline BOINC can't keep up.

Milkyway seems to want to hog the computer.

I just lost alot of WU's because of that.
