Do you have Vista64? Do your files have "64" suffix or not? |

Posted 8 Jul 2009 by CADENCE Post: Your suspicions are probably correct. It sounds like you installed the wrong version of Catalyst. Since you have a 64 bit OS, make sure that you're using Catalyst 9.5 Vista 64 bit version. I downloaded correct package from AMD website. I don't think one can install wrong drivers. 32-bit drivers cannot work in 64-bit OS. And my graphic card works correctly, so they have to be correct drivers. I was just thinking that maybe in 9.6 AMD changed names of those dll's again. That's why I would like to hear some confirmation from someone who installed catalyst 9.6 under Vista64. |

I noticed that even though I have Vista64, the aticalc*.dll files don't have "64" suffix. Do you see the same in your system? Maybe that's the problem. At first it was crashing constantly. Then I changed the .dll file names as described, rebooted the system. Now it doesn't crash, but only uses CPU and not GPU. Any clues? [/quote] Oh, actually, it still keeps crashing. Even after changing .dll names. |
