WOO HOO! Hurray the great day has come! Congrats on getting the cuda app going. As of this morning running MW on 1nvidia+1ati..lol :)
Got pleanty road ahead but good job to everyone (on all fronts) getting this multiproject multi gpu thing boincing ;)

Attached the c1060 (having set web prefs to gpu) it downloaded the app and away it went..
92312897
92312896

..I can confirm others reports. Current draw shows GPU running ~45-55% /w MW cuda. Also, it would be nice to see elapsed time in stderr_txt?

Keep crunching & keep up the good work MW!

I have been running 8.12 from the start with vista 64 and xp 64 since the start and have had very little problems.

cheers.....Thank You CP.. Very nice work

Ditto...same same, except running XP 32 bit.

So quick question?
How often is the database backed up then?

Also, congratulations on the speedy recovery. I hadn't even noticed the project down but came to investigate when I saw -3.6mil on stats site.

Very good show.. Keep up the great work guys!

Just got a few! They were gone nearly as fast as they came... YEAY!

Thanks Travis! Could it just be the feeder is struggling to keep up with everyones work requests at once and things should mellow as caches fil?

Wish we had something like the cricket graphs here...

May as well post this now for posterity i suppose...*sniffle*

Running a single 4850 with pixie dust, was able to sustain a rac of about ~80,000... :)

currently: rac 82,989.41 total 4,030,202
Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz

That is if everything working as advertised.
This behavior seems to be anomaly of MW units always thinking they are in deadline trouble. If you had units they would be running in high priority, so boinc no get any to avoid trouble. I haven't got any MW, on main cruncher with other projects running, since I upgraded.

This is probably some new "feature" with 6.6.36 but dont worry - by the time we get to 6.9.48 it'll pale into insignificance with all the newer features.

roflmao ....pretty much

Guess i'm a bit behind...
Still using 8.12 with a 4850 here (xp32)
Any reason for change it? Host run for weeks stable, no crash or video issues.

Is there any advantage to cross-firing a headless dedicated Boinc cruncher? Would the answer make a difference if matched or unmatched cards? Thanks, just wondering for future purchase decisions. Currently most my experience is with Nvidia cards; in which SLI and Boinc cannot be used together.

YEAY for desktop supercomputers! lol

Hey, anyone remember the first tasks on stock vanilla CPU app? Before the first round of optimizations...My how far we've come..
Can't wait to turn some cuda loose on MW's and see how they do compared to 4850.
Will be interesting to run MW on one box with 4850+260

One of my machines run using a 4850+280 for a while :) One on MW, one on GPUGrid

Yea, running my q6600 like that till it blowd up..lol
Thing I am waiting for is being able to crunch one project on both cards for compare. Right now ~5k on seti and 20k here on a 4850 seems bad comparison.

All smiles here! Actually even getting more than one unit at a time occasionally!

I vote to make them 16x.
That should make for a more average length runtime. Maybe shoot for ~12 hours on CPU. I know I am going to get told NOOOOOOO! But I really want some longer units. Anyway, thanks for all the hard work. Never had a host achieve >20k rac before. Keep up the great work! Aloha

Cheap is a very subjective term in that sense Ice...
My home photo printer costs $100US
The photo printer I use at work cost $100,000US (Noritsu)
They were both quite "cheap"..

By any metric however, Richards statement was accurate. Boinc's whole premise is allowing research (hopefully with no profit motive) that otherwise would be unable to be done..do to no one willing to finance it (because of lack of ROI).

The beauty of boinc is individual contributions no matter. It is the collective that creates the awesome processing power that is the Boinc scientific network.
.02...but not cheap :P

Now that the work appears to be flowing nicely and I assume the server is keeping up - do we now need a separate GPU project?

Same question?
I would think better to keep as one project.?.

edit to add:

By all means!!

Second!

Fantastic news. Dusted off my ATI card and put in place of a 260..running great now. With each work request fulfilled.
Thanks very much guys! ATI crunching on Boinc is alive again!

No CPUvsGPU debate here. 99% of my credits come from GPU. I was mearly offering a suggestion which would increase project throughput by lowering server demand. While at the same time still serving all the workunits it can. It would then be a more even distribution of work among volunteers. Not the stark division between haves and have-not's that exists now.

Can't get any tasks from MW today. :(

Why not make it 120? 600, 6000...
At what point would faster CPU's start starving under normal conditions. I'm not worried about GPU burning through tasks in seconds as this is the CPU project. Would it not be a good idea to shift work toward CPU hosts being able to pick them up, at the expense that gpu can't get new tasks every minute?

My understanding is server connot distiguish cpu/gpu app with current layout. So to stop GPU cruching on main entire new app would be required. This is why GPU tasks not receive credit here when GPU project go live.

LOL, Touche'
Sorry that video horrible. Running out door, just wanted someone sacraficing ati card..(sorry guys, lol, seemed funny in my head) I laughed because at the mention of human sacrafice not working; my first thought was that hardware sacrafice was needed.

we now return to your regularly scheduled programming...
