Yes, they are 're-sends'.
Jake probably means that we don't get 'new bad wu's', but just the ones that are allready out in the field.
Every (bad) wu must be processed by three different pc's to clear from the queue.

Proverbial Friday afternoon, nothing implemented on a Friday afternoon works correctly. The problem usually becomes self-evident right after the last employee has left the building :)

Error rate is quite high....45% error out in 1 sec.
Not much time wasted, but I must babysit this machine because the communication with the project defferes to 24 hours...

First I did was also reboot my system, but that did not do any good.
I got errors on;

My error rate is Climbing....
Some of the wu's error out after 1 or 2 seconds.
Is it me or a bad run...

Think I found the issue. Working on getting the dead workunits cleared out of the queue, and then we should be back to normal.

Did you know the validator isn't running right now? There are "Workunits waiting for validation 784,158" right now!!


Maybe it has to do with;

Users registered in past 24 hours; 610

Computers registered in past 24 hours; 126

We've been hacked......!!!
We will not get our credits unless we pay the ransom......
(you know i'm just kidding, right?)

About 'how much errors' appears on one machine;
State: All (3620) · In progress (322) · Validation pending (0) · Validation inconclusive (439) · Valid (2639) · Invalid (13) · Error (207)

The errors here were all 1 second errors, same as all the wingmen!

Notice the 'in progress (322)';
In fact this is a 2 GPU machine, with only one GPU crunching for Milkyway!
80/GPU...........not in my case luckely!

I have been unable to download any work units today and am totally out of MilkyWay@Homework units at this point. I am running a iMac with MacOS 10.12.4. My other BOINC projects are operating fine. Do I need to update something?

As you can see here;

I just put up updated runs the corrected credits. A 5 work unit bundle should now give 221 credits I believe. This should reflect the increase crunching time required.

I forgot to say;
Before I started with the new 1.46 application, I removed the app_info.xml and saved it to another dir.
Rebooted Boinc.
Did a reset on the project.
Then asked for new work.

When I got new work, I set Boinc to 'no new work' and had a close look wat happend. All went well with about 130 wu's so I was sure to take the next step.
So I edited my app_info.xml to change all '1.43' to '1.46', saved it to the Milkyway directory and rebooted Boinc.

Now it crunch 2 wu/time like before.

I've done 80 wu's and still no invalids or errors.
10 validated and .......wait for it......(drums.....) 133.66 credits....!

Sounds good! It stops for a few seconds as it switches saves the results of one work unit and begins working on a new one. Just a little overhead.

Also the increased run time should be accounted for in credit allocation. I scaled the credit appropriately for the increase in run time due to the extra calculations in the disk model.

I can't confirm the longer runtime because I used to do 2/time and that took about 70 seconds. For test sake I do one/time now...

Can't confirm higher credit either 'cause no job validated yet...

First jobs crunched and uploaded.
Takes about 53 seconds one at a time on my R9 280
% counter stops a few seconds at 20, 40, 60 and 80%, thats different...

Hey aad,

There are still 250,000 work units out in progress. Some of the slower machines are taking their time clearing their work queues. I'll probably leave the project off for the night and push the update tomorrow around noon after my final exam.

Hi Jake,

The project status page seems to be stuck at 2 May 2017, 20:43:39 UTC ...

No problem leaving the project off for the night to me; I shifted the GPU to another project, so it's busy and already doing other jobs.


Leave the server for what it is and prepare for what is more important; you're final exam!
