Is it ktm32.dll or ktmw32.dll? The error message says the first but your message board link has the second.

I'm getting the error that they were getting back in March now in June.

I get the following:

<search_application> milkyway_separation 1.00 Windows x86_64 double </seach_application> Unrecognized XML in project preferences: max_gfx_cpu_pct Skipping: 40 Skipping: /max_gfx_cpu_pct Unrecognized XML in project preferences: allow_non_preferred_apps S

its cut off after the S on that one.

Then another one is

<search application> milkyway_nobody 1.18 Windows x86_64 double OpenMP, Crlibm </search application> Using Open MP 1 max threads on a system with 8 processors Could not load Ktm32.dll(126): The specified module could not be found <search likelihood> -942

its cut off after that. I searched my system and I do not have a file called Ktm32.dll.

Finally I get the following:

<search application> milkyway_separaton 1.22 Windowx x86_64 double </search application> Reading preferences ended prematurely Error loading Lua script 'astronomy_parameters.txt': [strong number_parameters: 4...]:1 '<name>' expected near '4' Error rea

and it cuts off after that. I searched and I dont have a file called astronomy_parameters.txt.

I've gotten several of each type error recently. Should I be fixing something?

Thanks...

I ended up figuring this would be a problem with the card. The GPU on it has worked great with SETI for several years on the GeForce 1GB 250 GTS so I should meet the need for having done something with a GPU and I did get 10 WU's on the 2nd day just nothing since I'll leave the setting with the GPU options turned off and see if I get anything.

But I went ahead and ordered the highest end card I can put in this motherboard and OS which is the GeForce 1.74GB 295 GTX which is on the approved list and the added benefit to me is that has dual GPU's on it each with 240 cores while my current one has only 120 with 1 GPU. Plus the 295 GTX has a whole bunch of other features on it that aren't in the 250 GTS.

I redid all my settings for both computing preferences and project preferences when I added the additional projects. I've been on version 7 for awhile. Although 1 workstation is on version 6 because its OS literally can't go higher than the version its running.

I originally had the first value as "--" and the second as "10" I went and changed everything to "2" and kept the "10".

I have GPU checked for use always although I'm not sure watching BOINC how well it performs TSO operations. And from what I can see my GPU runs under a constantly fluctuating load from 40% to 80% (I run 5 extra fans to cool the CPU's and the GPU). I've got my processor settings at 75% of the CPU's at 75% load. So I get 6 primary tasks and 1 sub task running all at once.

Now that I've said that I dont know if that impacts on your question. Is the figure you were mentioning impacted by multiple machines on 1 account? Because several of the machines don't have GPU they can use as they are older machines. And my primary workstation apparently has 1 card below the recommended list. So last night I ordered the highest card my MB will take which is on the list.

Well since I've done SETI for 11 years I've always got it set to give me up to 10 extra days worth of work since I let all the machines in the office run 24x7 and split their CPU time between their p reprogrammed takes and BOINC.

So turning off the GPU option in settings area would not let me do MilkyWay WU's?

And as second thing. I forced a driver update to the latest Nvidia drivers and I gained OpenCL dll's and I also now have an option on the card in the 3D settings that can be set to be program specific called "extensions limit" which according to the description since it defaults to "Off" says the extension string has been trimmed with the option "On" it will pass longer strings. I think that is talking about precision do you know if that is the case? I remember double precision from my Fortran days 30 years ago.

If neither of those will help I am looking at getting a 295 GTX which is the upper card limit I can put on this motherboard.

I've been on SETI for 11 years, I signed up for all the astronomy ones I could on the 8th when I some from a post on SETI that the BOINC app is supposed resource time share so while I could set profiles for the other machines to different settings I adjust my design station to share time with SETI + 6 other projects.

I seem to have something of the same problem. I got a bunch of WU's immediately upon signing up on the 8th. And I haven't received any since I finished them up rather quickly as they all jumped to high priority on my 8 CPU, 16 gig U320 15K SCSI system.

I have tried hitting update a few times to get more WU's but nothing.

I notice the Nvidia cutoff is the GTX 260. I have GTS 250. I am looking at the specifications and while the GTX 260 has certain features like more cores, higher memory interface width and bandwidth it is slower in other areas to the GTS 250 and the 260 only supports OpenGL 2.1 while the 250 supports 3.0. I have included the specification links form Nvidia are you sure the GTS 250 doesn't qualify?

I want to be be able to help the project as best as I can. I have fairly powerful machine with Dual Core, Dual CPU's with Hyperthreading for 8 CPU's. Maximum memory of 16 gigs and all the hard drives are U320 15,000 RPM 300 GB SCSI Drives with OS/cache/operations each on a different drive to take advantage of the multitasking multithreading options of the SCSI drives.
