Found a couple more wingmen with problems..

This is a different one, but nothing but errors...

http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_host_detail.php?hostid=169067

Here's another that is not completing any with a wingman..

http://milkyway.cs.rpi.edu/milkyway/show_host_detail.php?hostid=126692

I did not check them all, just a few.

And here is an output file from the first one.. is that (-np) a legitimate input argument?

because my RAC is dropping like a rock and I know other projects would give me more.... just a little pissed that the ATI thing has effected the CPU only crowd... I believe we were here first, and are now being treated like someones old gum that I stepped in walking down the street on a hot day.. ewwwww

I would suggest to stop bitching about the lower credits. Just use the new 0.20 ATI version and your credits/day will be back to the values before the reduction or maybe even slightly higher :D

MW can afford to have "parity" with SETI ;)

And what about the rest of us peons that don't have an ATI card and are running just CPU tasks....

ahhh screw us

This is now officially an ATI only project... and since I don't have one, bye bye

Must be getting close to paper grading time.... hu

You might want to ask the seti Germany team, they seem to be running the credit distribution of Boinc right now.

Maybe DA's paying them on the side... :)

I am doing a quick inventory on my hosts and to my surprise I have found several with ATI cards.. Not sure if they are compatible...

  • HD3850
  • HD3870
  • HD4830
  • HD4850
  • HD4870

are the comaptible cards. The upcoming HD4890 will be running too.

Hummm....

They make an AGP version of the HD3850 if this works, this would be a cheap way to make older hardware scream for about $120 US.

Would you forsee any problems running and AGP version of the HD3850?

LOL... even BOINC's own Beta is pathetic: BOINC alpha test...........0.403

Yeah, well BOINC alpha test is really just for the alpha versions of BOINC, so they can download WUs that can basically be screwed over and have no effect. Just sends out work for the uppercase example app. It's not meant as a full-time project.

LOL: Well they could give more credit than that, since they are the parity nutjobs.

They can't even keep their own project in line with parity, but expect everybody else to...... nice...

I have yet to see even one time that the credit police have gotten a project to raise their credit.

Here's the link: http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_cpcs.php

Here's the list : Go sick'em

The almighty SETI.........1.000

uFluids...........................0.507

What about the anti-police? Thanks for this useful info. I have word when uFluids is ready to go on its new server the credits will be adjusted accordingly. I've recommended doubling them. :D

And then the other 42 projects?

These would be a good place to start, don't you think....

Hydrogen@Home...........0.274 ... lol . just pathetic
Docking@Home..............0.360 ... this is a joke right? No good science here
orbit@home...................0.338

Go ahead and get your magic wand out.

LOL... even BOINC's own Beta is pathetic: BOINC alpha test...........0.403

I believe that was my point.

And until I see the police get even one project to raise credit, the parity discussion is OVER.

You know what the project has been barely up for 24hs without a problem, why don't we wait a while before adjusting the credits again.

Between the optimized apps, the GPU app, and the stock app, there is no way of being able to adjust the credit to a fair amount for all (hardware) systems, and Operating Systems just yet.

If you all are so gun ho for the cross project pairity thing, then may I suggest that you go hound the 95% of these projects that are giving out less credit than the seti stock app.I have yet to see even one time that the credit police have gotten a project to raise their credit. They just go around and pound on a project until they are beaten into submission and the list below is the results.

When you can get even 50% of the 90% that give less to give a reasonable amount then I will agree with you that this project is too high. Until then, I use this project to even the field, and gives me the opportunity to crunch other projects and get around the same credit as if there was parity.

43 projects giving less credit than Seti

6 giving more and one of them is seti beta, and we are not even talking about the regular SETI with the opto app here either, which would bring the number of SETI projects giving more than the regular app to 2

If you really fell outraged it should be because of this Hydrogen@Home 0.274 ... lol thats just pathetic

So go and get even 10 of those to raise their credit and we can talk about parity to the almighty SETI

Until then just leave this (ALPHA) project alone!

If not there are some projects there that are giving out .7 or .8 might want to go beat them down some more. That way everyone will only crunch SETI, and we know how well there servers are handling the load right now, lets see what happens if everyone only crunches the same SETI results 150 each times just to keep everyone with work.

There are no longer any approved windows SEEx apps, only linux, and mac.

Don't give effort... Travis is the kind of people who bites the hand of the people whom feeds him...

He wont have too, once I see sub 1. credits my hosts are gone.

I think this is going to punish the Windows users, the linux guy's are able to run SEEx optimized apps, and the Windows guys are not able to. So now everyones credits are cut, because they get more credit than seti's opto app.

There's a whole thread in the code section on how to optimize a liunx app, us Windows guy's are up the creek without any know how on how to...

And don't say just make one, if I could I would. I have googled for a how to without luck.

Posted in the wrong thread..

According to this site: http://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_cpcs.php

The milkyway app is 1.6 x faster that the seti stock app. Cutting by 1/2 will put you in the sub 1. range.

I would seriously reconsider giving out less than the seti stock app. This is still an alpha project no?
