Posted 24 Apr 2009 by Pwrguru Post: What I don't understand is that the Ati cards are running this project right now...Wouldn't it make more sense to start the new GPU project with them since they are already proven to work and add the Cuda in the near future ?? All your problems between gpu and cpu users are solved..........Doing it this way you are causing more problems because you are going to be adding more users (nvidia card) before you move the ati cards to the new project....... |

Keep wagging that tail to try and take the focus off yourself....Using my list that you posted, I completed 40 work units in 17 minutes.........Now for some reason that doesn't seem excessive to me since I am running a 4870 1 gig Gpu card and 4 WCG tasks at the same time.........And when I run out of work I wait to get more work....I see that you somehow FORGOT to post that part of my list....... |

Posted 21 Mar 2009 by Pwrguru Post: Sorry, i mixed things up with Pwrguru, he's reporting WUs every few seconds immediately when they're done which i a pain for the servers and completely senseless. If you read it right I am not reporting a work unit every second as you say.....It is completed work unit uploaded (no reporting), not asking for more work.....I realize that you may be new and all but that is how boinc works..... P.s. I think that you are still confused who you are talking about......... |

Posted 21 Mar 2009 by Pwrguru Post: Has anyone else had any issues with .19e? I just started using it today and ran into a problem. I have my pc set to turn off my monitor when I'm idle for 20mins and every time i come back to my pc after this it has rebooted with an error. .19e does seem to run smoother, but i switched back to .19d for the time being. I'm running vista 64 with the 8.12 driver.I am running the same versions as you are and haven't had a problem so far....My monitor is set to turn off in 5 minutes..... |

Posted 20 Mar 2009 by Pwrguru Post: I love how people like you try to justify everything you do.....I just let Boinc run and when I have work it attachs to the server every couple of minutes....What you failed to include is that since that time I have not gotten any more work and the boince schedluer will (on its own) send more work my way sooner or later....If you want to tell the whole story, include your list the next time so we can compare them...... |

Posted 19 Mar 2009 by Pwrguru Post: One more question - how do you prevent other project to soak all cache for WUs? I want to crunch Einstein on CPU along with Milky on GPU, but Milky is limited for 6 WUs/CPU, then Einstein fills up the cache (I have it set for 1 day) and then Milky does not request more work. I had to put No New Work for Einstein and suspend couple of its WUs to keep GPU busy. I have also run into this problem And have tried several different combo's with very little luck..........I found what works best for me is 6.5.0 boinc and the new 19e.....I have it set to run 4 gpu projects and 4 cpu projects and that seems to make everything play nice together.......... |
