I am currently in Austin TX and my passion is skydiving
I grid because to me, what we do here, will only help future generations and my donation of time, money, and computing power goes directly to our specie's scientists and at no point along the way are my contributions squandered.
...That and I don't have to run a 5k
Your opinions about MilkyWay@home
I run MilkyWay@Home for the same reasons I run Rosetta@Home, SETI@Home, & LHC@Home
I believe they are four of the more important projects to further progress the evolution of our specie:
1. To create an accurate depiction of our near galactic neighborhood for future exploration, proactive discovery of answers that have yet to be questioned such as NEOs we might not have thought to look for, and provide relevant data to other projects and research teams around the world.
2. To find cures for our viral infections and genetic complications so as to better our health and increase our life expectancy - to live better
3. To find intelligent life in our near galactic neighborhood so as to expand our knowledge and better understand our significance as a specie.
4. And to better understand the construct of our universe from creation till now - by this comes the future platform for all other scientific advances
