Your personal background. |
I'm a 21 year old Canadian history major with a serious interest in space and sci-fi—I love shows like Star Trek, Red Dwarf, The Expanse, and really anything dealing with the vastness of space. My hobbies are gaming (with some faves being Space Engineers, Elite Dangerous, and MechWarrior Online), music, and recently I've gotten into learning about and rebuilding computers. |
Your opinions about MilkyWay@home |
I run MilkyWay@Home largely because I like to game (and have a fairly powerful PC), but with coursework my time for that is rather limited. Since running a couple tabs in Chrome doesn't put a dent in my available processing power, helping humanity learn more about the galaxy we live in seems like a worthy cause to contribute it to.
I feel like an interesting addition to MilkyWay@Home (and one which has been brought up on the message boards before) would be a way to see a little more about the work units that one completes. Even a little map of the Milky Way with a dot of the location that the work unit deals with would be super cool. |
