One of our astronomers started up some searches today, but it looks like the workunit size was too small and the server couldn't keep up. We're going to start up some new searches tomorrow which should take longer to process and not make the website unusable and server unaccessible.

Where have you been? The servers have been slow for weeks. Today has been no different.
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?
If it makes sense, DON'T do it.

Seems the new longer WUs run 30% longer (60s instead of 40s last week on my 4890) but yield the same 53 credits...

Yup, that's our retribution for trashing the server .... ;o)

I noticed the GPU-usage went down with 25% (running @75%). I guess as a security measure for not crashing the server anymore ?

I am still seeing the same ~00:55 on my cards for MW work ... though with the new 2.05b on Collatz it looks like I shaved nearly 60 seconds off the average run time there ...

Yup, around the time of your post I also noted the runtime of MW WU returning back to normal ...

Hmm, still only batches of 'normal' WUs here.
GPU usage is the same for those long-runners - payment isn't.
