Dark energy may be a pipe dream after all.
Korean study indicates the type 1A supernova intensity may diminish with age of universe which means no expansion and no dark energy
https://phys.org/news/2020-01-evidence-key-assumption-discovery-dark.html
Earlier supporting evidence https://arxiv.org/abs/1808.04597

The first review (criticism) of the paper says no
https://arxiv.org/abs/1912.02191

A critcism of the "criticism" says the aurhors failed to take account of the Milkyway and our Solar system's velocity

Back and forth is here

Fortunately, this scientific discussion has not gotten to the point where disagreeing studies are the work of "expansion deniers" and require gatekeeping to push the expanding universe theory.

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for your thoughts and links. I read them. Gives something to think about!

I just want to point out in the same vein, to simply accept that all energy was extruded in the big bang or bounce could be a really wrong assumption. Why not use the context of observable data from formation of black holes to give the possibility that 70% of energy and matter formed in the first few seconds bounced back to the singularity and that could be in some way connected to gravitational discrepancies with Galaxy formation. In this model only 30% of the stuff of the universe is observable.

I had a similar idea: One of the big mysteries in physics is what happened to all the anti-matter. One suggestion was it had a gravitationally repulsive force and separated form our matter. The idea being another universe composed of antimatter that over time was pushed outside of our observable universe. However there are valid objections to repulsive gravity based on "negative mass". Possibly all the antimatter stayed inside the singularity. By "all" I mean there was a surplus of anti inside and surplus of regular matter outside. The "surplus" was left over after the particles annihilated each other. The antimatter "inside" the singularity expanded into a new co-existing universe in another of those string dimensions and doubled the gravity of which only 1/2 can be accounted for based on mass of our universe.. Supposedly string theory says gravity reaches across all dimensions unlike other forces.

My 2c theory.
