My cofig works just fine on Collatz, Einstein,Folding@Home and several others . But i can`t make both my GTX 1070Ti run on Milkyway Is It to new driver again or is it something else?
It is set to "Run Allways" , "disabled SLI" and the cc_config file is in the Programdata/Boinc folderas always

Just to state the obvious . . . . you have <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> in your cc_config.xml file, correct?

Should be
<cc_config>
 <options>
  <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
 </options>
</cc_config>

0 = No
1 = Yes

As Link posted the statement requires a boolean value of true/false or 0/1 for it to be acted upon.

Your statement as written is invalid.

As to be found in

___ BOINC MANAGER
_____ Tools
_______ BOINC Help
__________ USER Manual
_____________ Running BOINC: advanced
________________Client configuration
___________________ Configuration files
______________________ Options
_________________________ <use_all_gpus>0|1</use_all_gpus>

---> If 1, use all GPUs (otherwise only the most capable ones are used). Requires a client restart.

Hope I listed the instructions to get there correctly.

Perhaps it's easier to click on https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration#Options and scroll down to the required option. ;-)

I have bookmarked https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_configuration in my web browser, that way I can always easily access that page in case I need some setting.

That is truely the best way!

What I prefer to show others, or even for myself, is to learn the exact way to get to something.
Usually, while doing it the hard way, one finds other interesting things ...
Or learns how to go about finding other things ...

Maybe I'm just old fashioned!

Cheers

Message 74708 - Posted: 26 Nov 2022, 23:11:14 UTC - in response to Message 74707.

Thx for all the help. I have tried and failed and tried again, and it still do not work.
The config works on all my other projects and it have so since May 2002 with Seti and 2 x GTX 750Ti and then 4x GTX750Ti

Two hours (local time) i stopped Milkyway and started GPUGrid and 2 GPU`s showed up at once.
This is the CC_Config :

<cc_config>
<log_flags>
</log_flags>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
</options>
</cc_config>

I run 3 workstation at the time as you can se on my account, the only one that runns 2 GPU`s is the one with no cc_config file and 2 x Quadro 4000k and Cuda 8.1 and nVidia driver 376.51
The to other WS has 2 x GTX 1070Ti and Cuda 10 and 11 with nVidia Driver 526.98.

And again, thx for all the help folks.....I`ll try again on monday :-)

Helge Olson:

Have you checked the "event log" ?
There should be, for example, at start-up of BOINC a line with
11/27/2022 9:18:30 AM | | Config: use all coprocessors

Sure you placed the cc_config in the correct file?

I can't think of anything else ...

Have a nice Sunday

And one other thing to ensure you are using Notepad to edit and save the file and NOT a word processing program

Helge Olson:

what does your "app_config" for MW look like?

Are you using "project_max_concurrent" or perhaps "max_concurrent" ?

Just a thought ...

Seems to be a problem with Milkyway, as my config file is the same as it has been for the same 2-3 years that i have been running the project. Also that all other projects will use both GPUs at the same time.
